Last night, we met a guest at the airport - after their flight 'went around' on their initial approach while there were flashes of lightning in the area, and hail falling at a million miles an hour. It wasn't the most comforting feeling in the world knowing we'd be fighting the weather a little, but after a lot of research into the weather maps, the smallest break of blue sky to the west, we travelled out of the city for about an hour to where we got out of the storm that was hanging over Yellowknife and were treated to another evening, and early morning, of dances of green, the occasional bursts of purple, and a lot of unbelievably fast movement up there. It was something special.
