Finland is an entirely different country in the summer than it is during the Winter, which is the only time of year I've visited before. Summer... the weather is gorgeous, the winds are warm, the daylight is forever (literally), and the greenery is astounding. And so, as much as I love the long, dark, cold Winters here - this is such a nice change! Just a ten minute ferry ride off the harbour of Helsinki lies Suomenlinna, a fair sized island home to just 700 people. The weather was thee most perfect it could've been for a day of exploration over there, and far better than the just above freezing temperatures with horrendous winds the last time I visited.
