The first sign of it came as we were leaving the driveway, and the car had been sitting all day, meaning the tires resembled something closer to squares than smooth circles, and it certainly felt like it for the first few kilometres. But that all straightens itself out.
One thing that doesn't exactly get easier with time? -38°, or -40°, or whatever the temperature actually got down to last night. Because once you cosy up inside a warm car for some time, and try to get back outside on a frozen lake you can just feel your body telling you 'nnnoooo. go baaacckkkkk.'
But that outside world, even at -38°, is so perfect, and it's so worth it.
