Clouds. Just overcast cloud. It's not even broken these days. Except last night, or yesterday afternoon at 16:00, when the sky was already a deep twilight and it felt more like 'night'. The sky very strangely began to open up, smallest enough at first to make a guest giggle when I got excited over being able to see clear sky finally. But little by little the clouds continued to separate, and before we knew it, clear skies.
As soon as my other guests for the night arrived just before 20:00, I headed out with my Australian far along the Ingraham trail and enjoyed a wonderful, wonderful night under countless shooting stars in temperatures that reached -27ºC. Special. So special.
