I did have the thought, that just maybe, I was a little overenthusiastic and had the cart ahead of the horse. Or the Flex ahead of the sunset, anyway.

We were driving out, along the beautiful Ingraham Trail, which looked... A little too beautiful. Why am I seeing so much detail in the landscape? Because it's still sunset, that's why. And if you know anything about aurora chasing, you know you need a clear, dark sky, and we had 50% of that. But the right 50%. Eventually the sky did darken fully, somewhere around 23:15, and despite my over-enthusiasm, the aurora was out against the bright twilight sky before 22:00, and she stayed until after we left.
