Last night was a very small tour, which I love, and when we arrived far out of the city, away from anything at all, we reclined our seats, opened up the moonroof, and enjoyed the stars and some quiet conversation sipping warm apple ciders for a few hours. Then within just minutes of the faintest vertical streaks you can imagine beginning to form, a band arced way above us, and in a minute, the entire sky was dancing with greens and purples.
People often ask 'how fast can the aurora appear and disappear?', and it's really within a few heartbeats, it's something so special.
Aside from a windchill of -45°, it was another favourite experience this year.
