It was everything I was hoping for. A clear break in the fog and heavy low cloud outside of the city lights, and early auroral activity at a nice, quiet, peaceful little pullout off the highway. It was perfect.
Until, that is, some time later, two half busses full of yelling tourists somehow managed to jam their way into the smallest pull-out for a hundred kilometres. It wasn't exactly... the peace and quiet perhaps you're desiring in nature under one of the most spectacular light shows on the planet. So we ran away, to slightly less clear skies, but to fulfill a genuine desire.
