On our way out of Yellowknife, we almost immediately hit heavy rain - for some time. But eventually coming out of it on the other side, clear skies did await us, as did an endless stretch of the milky way horizon to horizon, and a subtly beautiful night of the aurora borealis.

See, the beauty of being north-west for the night, or one of many of them, is for every last kilometre back home, every detail of Orion - his belt, his sword, face, shoulders and ankle seemed to just glow at us through the front windscreen. The intensity was inundating, which leaves the joy, just as much, in the journey. All 193.4 kilometres of it.
