Despite an aurora sighting or two at the end of July, last night definitely had the feeling of the beginning of aurora season. Leaving the city at just before 23:30, our night was filled with the deeper happenings of a sunset and sunrise, some absolutely gorgeous noctilucent clouds - which form at almost the same altitude as the aurora (!!! wrap your head around that!) - and some beautiful, beautiful, fast moving bursts of the aurora herself.

An honourable mention to the approximately 4,728 mosquitos which watched with us lakeside.
