As much of the night we spend chasing clear skies, and as beautifully subtle as the aurora still does glow during weaker activity across from a full moon, I never really wish for these nights, but I know that they are inevitable. So when we have them, I love them so much (what's with all the italics all of a sudden?) for the rawness and the authenticity of this experience. Because expectations are a funny thing, and don't believe every oversaturated photo you see on the internet without understanding the way our eyes work at night as opposed to in daylight first.

But finally, you can, and should, bet that over the course of a few nights or a week here, you'll see green, and you'll see them dance, but leave the experience to what it will be, and appreciate the part of it that you are.
