Again earlier in the night, the activity was excellent and the clouds were on their way in, so by 20:00 we were on the road already with the aurora out on the horizon in front of us racing to keep the clouds behind us and to catch the tail end of this solar storm. By the time we found a (windy) little spot out on a lake, the lights were dancing, curtaining, piano-keying the entire northern half of the sky, east to west, in spectacular reds and purples. What we caught early in the evening was definitely the best of the night, but the cookies and the hot cocoa kept us going into the morning.
